He's got this face he gets sometimes. It's bare and naked and every veneer of civilization and humanity that he normally wears is just stripped away. It's not the Prince of Man face. See, that one I can deal with. It's like the face every other authority figure in my life has tried to wear, only Henry does it a bit better. He's been doing it longer, anyway. But authority I can tell to fuck off. I can walk away. There might be danger in it, might be a night in jail or a swat on the head, but mostly with the shit I get into, or at least used to get into, it's not going to kill me, you know? Other times, you give in, you respect it. But you've always got the choice.
Not with the other one, not without risking wetting your pants, at least. It's his Prince of Darkness face, and it's not one you turn your back on, no matter if you trust him with your life or not. Human nature, right there, recognizing that we aren't exactly at the top of the food chain. He is. And you think his eyes should be like Willow's when she's doing her magic (which, by the way, eyes don't do when you do magic, no matter what TV and movies say), but it's more than that. It's nothing that drastic, nothing that in your face. And yet, it is. It's wild and feral and when it's fixed on you, you know not to move, 'cause if you do, you're toast. And maybe it's not a bad way to go. Maybe it'll make you come harder than you've ever imagined was possible. Maybe it's more addictive than meth. But it's a face you can lose your soul in. You look too long and there's nothing left of yourself. That one you don't walk away from so easy, but once you do, you know you can't go back, not ever. You have to keep your distance if you're going to keep yourself.
Even if you do miss the other parts sometimes.
